chris was driving and saw this sign (danger-landmines) and wanted to pull off the road to take a picture. freaked me out as he backed into the field next to the sign...

since we were in a dairly small rental car, we stopped from time to time to stretch. this is one stop along the coast of montenegro! we saw hours and hours of coastline that was just beautiful.

this was supposed to be, according to the travel guide, to be a city of about 20,000. however, i think there were at least that many old women standing with ''sobe'' signs (offering rooms for rent).

split had some of the most beautiful coast i've ever seen. it's the second largest city in croatia and has a population of around 150,000.
