C.S. Lewis on the Road
I listened to Lewis' audio book "Mere Christianity" on the way to Louisville today. It was good to get reaquainted with it, especially by listening, which is a different process than reading. It is like a great song...every idea is powerful, every sentence is a jewel, every illustration and word picture stunning! I think I need to listen to it every day for a week. Perhaps if Disney had studied this before they made Prince Caspian instead of just going by their usual movie formulas...what's up with the Queen Susan romance thing? They had to go there? The Chronicles are all about brilliant theology packaged in epic storytelling. Still, I hope the films will get people to read the books or listen to the Focus on the Family Radio Theater series (which is very good)...or maybe even dig into his other works.
