Worship Ministry, Songwriting, and other crazy stuff

Too many animals today.

It all started with dreams about snakes with heads at both ends.  After fighting those in my sleep I went to church and led worship. That went well.  Then we needed to tear down after the service for graduation ceremonies. While we did that, my "locked" cell phone decided to call 911...twice.  The second time, so embarassed, I apologized profusely to the dispatcher who was calling out "Hello!!! is anybody there?"  I still don't know what happened.  This is the second time that has happened in six months.  I think they will probably want to fine me next time.  Time for a new phone.

When we got home from church we found a voice message recorded an hour before from the Piggs next door. They had sighted a brown bear down our road.  I'm not making this up.  Pigg is their name. We noticed that our cat, who always greets us was nowhere to be found. Then...I found the 40lb plastic bin of dog food dragged up the hill, overturned, and looted. We called the conservation authorities who said they knew about the rogue bear and HER CUB.  Oh great!!! a momma bear and a cub. They said if we see her just leave her alone.  Yeah, great!  Now the missing cat was really concerning us.  We called and called but she didn't show.  Jubi and this cat are inseparable. Jubi was playing this afternoon at a friends house.  Our minds went to the worst places.  We looked and called and prayed for two hours, keeping one eye out for bear.  We even asked the dog where the cat was but he just looked at us like "Who do you think I am...Lassie?"  Finally it was time for Jubi to come home.  What do we do?  Maybe if she calls...just maybe it will come down from some tree in the woods.

When she got home we told her about the bear and asked her to call for her cat not wanting to upset her.  She did for a few minutes and finally out of the attic soffit, the cat came...only it was obvious she was frighted out of her wits.  Her back was arched, fur standing up, and she was looking around everywhere scanning for any danger.  Jubi finally got her calmed down after we were inside for a while. Thank you, Jesus.
