"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst..."
This morning during the service our elders and congregation prayed over two sweet sisters from Serbia. Both of their first names are Vesna, the Russian word for Spring. They are starting a crisis pregnancy center there. The country has the highest rate of abortion per capita. We sent a mission trip to Serbia last year from our church and are forming a long term mission team that will be sent there soon.
I was able to see their radient faces as they worshipped on the front row today. I had the chance to say goodbye to one of them after the service. She responded emotionally "Thank you for leading the worship so beautifully, we will go back with our hearts full to share with our congregation" If I had been the one leaving after a visit to their country those would have been my parting words to them.
I'm going to Alaska this summer to lead a worship conference at a church. The one who is arranging it said they were very needy for worship there. I think that is a good place to be, if you know it. Ministry is hardest when there is no hunger for God. Better, persecution with hunger, than ease with apathy. I love to be a part of helping hungry worshippers come to the where they can filled with God. I wonder, how much more God loves it?
