Musical Weekend
In spite of the power outages and bad weather the show went on. The final performance of our Christmas musical was yesterday afternoon. It was by far the best. The orchestra was right on and the choir was ignited (figuratively).
We had a humorous introduction to the program involving a comical version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" arranged by Dave Williamson. It was set up by a little routine Lynn and I worked out. I whined that I never got to direct so Lynn played the timpani and I directed the choir. Kevin, the emcee divided up the audience into twelve parts and they sang along and made animal noises at the "appropriate" times. Members of the choir dressed up and led each section. Lynn Ragsdale was dressed like a rather large partridge as he led his section (funny stuff). It really warmed up the crowd and from there we traveled through several different musical styles from classical to big band. There were some really nice moments in the evening.
A big thanks to everyone involved. Way to go gang!!!
