Back to Nature
We went camping with our married children the last couple of days. When we got ready to leave for the trip I asked Jubi if she wanted to get her car booster seat so we could go. She has just turned 8 so she elequently informed me that it was no longer required and was shocked that I didn't know she had graduated that part of life. She shocks me a lot. When I was in Nashville she called me up to tell me a story she made up in Latin. No, I'm not kidding. She is studying Latin with mom. She had to translate it for me of course....something about a mouse squeeking and being chased by a cat. Today as we were walking down a trail, they were conversing in Latin. I felt a little left out.
We celebrated Jubi's birthday while we were there. She unwraped a bow and arrow and a "Robin Hood" cloak that Laura made for her. She looked like a little elf and was improving her archery before we left.
We camped in northern Arkansas. We ate breakfast at the War Eagle Mill (mmm) and later in the day, as we hiked by the river, I watched my intellegent, grown children jump off a cliff into the water. They were having "fun"...I was praying I didn't have to fish them out. Nothing like a little relaxation! The rest of the time was very enjoyable. I'm beginning to appreciate this phase of life. We got back home just in time to for me to clean up and go to rehearsal for church tomorrow.
