Worship Ministry, Songwriting, and other crazy stuff

Let It Rain!

I played aux keys this morning in church while my intern, Andrew led worship. I love just worshiping by playing sometimes without the responsibility of leading.  We ate lunch with Nathanael and he left to go back to Nashville. It has been great to have him around since the wedding.

I just finished unloading sound equipment at the church.  We did a concert at God's Resort tonight (a place that used to be called "The Last Resort").  It is a neighborhood our church has adopted as an outreach.  More than that, it is a group of people the Lord loves and that we are loving to Him.  It looked like we were going to get rained out but people found umbrellas and came anyway.  It has been so hot and dry, the nice gentle rain felt good. Some just let it fall on them.  Gary, Jason, Piper and I sang songs. Piper's boy played under the downspout with his umbrella.  He "accidentally" got soaked several times, playing while we sang.  It has been a while since we have done something like this together. We need to just jam more often.  40 pizzas and three coolers of pop later, Patrick sang few solos, Carl sang some kids songs and had all the kids of the neighborhood (and a lot of adults) doing the motions. Andrew led worship for a while.  Jay gave a short teaching and night fell.  It was such a great evening.

Then I sent off a work tape to Gina on a song we have been working on. It moves me.
