According to John

Things gleaned from the gospel of John this week.

How many times Jesus says, "I'm telling you the truth..." in that gospel and how it becomes a major theme.

How unmistakeable Jesus' claims of deity are-  "Before Abraham was, I AM"  "I and the Father are one",  "If you have seen me, You have seen the Father", "The Father is in Me, and I am in the Father",  "I am the Son of God",  "I came from down from heaven",  "the Father sent Me", and many others.

Light was created as a parable of understanding.  "I am the Light of the world",  "I came to give sight to the blind and to blind those who think they see."

How much Mary and Martha understood who Jesus was.  They got it!  And what it must have meant to Mary for Jesus to command His disciples to wash one another's feet after what she had done for Him.

How many times they attempted to stone Jesus before His appointed time and prophecied manner (crucifixion).

The reason so many showed up when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey was because He had just raised Lazarus from the dead.

John's application of "They shall look upon Him whom they have pierced" to himself as an eyewitness.

How refreshing it is to read absolute truth, "No one ever spoke like Him".
