Youth
Last Wed. we had the in-laws over for dinner. Not a mother or father-in-law. The sons-in-law...and of course our daughters with them. My mom always said she didn't have any daughters-in-law...they were always just daughters...as close as her own. That's how I want it to be...we love them already.
We go to staff retreat tomorrow...it is so obvious many things are on the horizon for this church. Last night we commissioned a young couple in our church who are going to North Africa. I was in camp with them when they made decisions to go to the mission field many years ago. They were very young but God did call a young Samuel, didn't He?...a young David, Joseph...a Phil, one time. I remember coming forward in Jr. High camp at the end of my own dad's sermon, so compelled, so ready to go wherever the Lord wanted me to.
I love the Keith Green song that sings the line "we truly dare not waste our youth."
