Worship Ministry, Songwriting, and other crazy stuff

More Estes moments

Since some have asked...the musical "Sovereign Lord" is in is called "Still Amazed"...here is the link http://www.brentwood-benson.com/product.aspx?ProjectCode=457571458   BJ Davis, one of the arrangers said the response during the live recording was wonderful.  Wish I could have been there.

I met Drew Cline this week.  I so appreciate how he has ministered this week.  What a great heart for the church and worship pastors!  He taught some great classes on worship ministry. I also went to a facinating workshop by Eric Wyse on writing modern hymns.  Yesterday Dave Clark and Mark Harris gave a class on co-writing.  Mark ended the class with the first public performance of a new song they had written.  It was so moving. I love getting in on moments like that.  I was standing in the back last night by Michael Puryear when Brian Littrell sang "Over My Head." I enjoy watching the blessing when writers hear people singing their songs.  Another great workshop yesterday by David Bunker dealt with why creative people leave the church.  One of my co-writers, Jaime Jamgochian sang in the concert last night, She just has a contagious joy when she leads worship. We got to catch up a little after the concert.  The morning worship and devotion sessions have been very powerful, some have included times of decision that many have responded to.

Everytime I come to Estes it is a spiritual experience for me...the mountains, the sunrises, times of solitude, great conversations, the speakers, the songs I hear....most of all, the precious times with the Lord.  I have been weepy all day.  God is so good.  I have had so many wonderful conversations with people.  To top it off, I spent a couple hours with Lee tonight sharing the history of our lives and how the Lord has worked in them.  It was so encouraging and I needed it so much.

A big encouragement to me, too.  Thanks, brother.  Congrats again on the Southeast Christian cut.  Can't wait to hear it!

Here's to many, many songs ahead of us!
