Worship Ministry, Songwriting, and other crazy stuff

Relationships

Prayer Gathering has been amazing the last two weeks. Though it is seldom well attended it could be the most significant time of my week.  Last week we prayed for a brother who came to the gathering to be freed from an addiction to Meth (that doesn't happen very often on Sunday morning). Tonight we poured our prayers and tears over several families that are in the midst of huge challenges.  I sang a new song that just seemed to fit.

Only 15 more days till I marry off my second daughter with those 4 little words...only this time I am also performing the wedding, so I have to have a little more control of my emotions.

I was thinking tonight about all the relationships I am responsible for in my life.  It is a little overwhelming at times.  Let's see...family (huge and all over the world), friends, church staff, worship team members, elders, deacons, members I have known most of my life, worship leader timothys, missionaries, and another whole network of songwriters and music people all over the map.  How do you keep an investment in the lives of so many people with significance?  Sometime I feel like I'm getting an inch think and a mile wide.  Years ago, I heard a youth leader say, speaking of close discipling relationships, "Jesus only had twelve and He was the Son of God"  I know there are priorities, but do I have to make a list and organize it all?  Seems like I turn around every day and see someone I with whom I need to "catch up."  I just know I feel better when I spend 10 minutes talking to someone about really important things rather than saying to 20 people "How Are you?" "Fine." I also know God also puts people in my path that I need to see that day. I guess I need to rest in that too. Still processing this....

I hope to spend my day-off tomorrow, working on some co-write songs I have started...and time with Jubi and Jodie of course and Laura before she is gone...and...
