At last, another blog entry
It's been hard finding the time to blog recently (at least that the excuse for now). I just got off jury duty the last couple of days. It went to a plea bargain. I was somewhat relieved and yet when you spend that much time thinking so hard because someone's future in on the line, It's hard to just lay it aside and get back to normal. It did make me appreciate the system in some ways and disappointed me in others. I started a song in the cafe across the street during lunch the first day...nothing about the chain gang. I love the idea and the hook and I can't wait to take it to a co-write.
Last night I played (ooh we need to replace the piano in the choir room) an easter song Marty and I wrote for the choir. They erupted in applause afterward...maybe because them just love me or maybe because the song moves them like it moves me. I hope both. Anyway, they start learning the arrangement I did of it it next week.
I'm in the midst of setting up co-writes for my next trip to Nashville. Looks like another week of fun. While we are there, my son is playing at the Bluebird Cafe. Looking forward that that too.
