Had a great day yesterday. My morning appointment with James had to be moved to the afternoon so I ended up going to the Provident building and checking in with Holly. Tony and Brian were in Holly's office. We talked for a while about worship songs. I went to a writing room to do a little writing and Sue Smith came in. She was free for the day so we ended up writing. We spent some time catching up and talked for a while about loving the scripture and sharing some cool thoughts. Chad popped in and told us about his trip to Nairobi. Chad makes me smile. He played a song he had written with some people there in Swahili. It was fun to listen to his adventure. It brought back memories of my trip to Nairobi.
Sue and I ended up heading to lunch and coming back to really start a song. Sue threw out a great idea for a Southern Gospel song and we went to work. Sue is simply a great lyricist. It was great fun to hang on for the ride. It's kind of like finding the right race car, getting it started, and zooming it to the finish. Johnathan popped in to say hi and give Sue some narration to write. We ended up with chorus and verse. And I sat down to write a melody. Sue e-mailed me a second verse last night. It is looking good.
Sue got a call while we were writing. Pray for little Luke who is in the hospital with a virus and pneumonia.
I wrote with James Tealy in the afternoon. It's always a hoot to write with James. I brought an idea from Hebrews that I had been working on. It was great to see it go to the next level.
I intended to go to a show that night. I was invited by someone a musician playing at Estes to come see it, but I couldn't find the venue.
Today I am writing with Jaime Jamgochian. Here we go again.
